Buy A Mask to Donate Three to
From Houses to Homes
From Houses to homes is partnering with Humans In Action, an initiative by the Guatemalan company Goodkraft, to offer re-usable, washable face masks made according to the CDC's recommendations for non-medical grade protective face coverings. The masks also provide at-home employment for displaced Guatemalan garment workers.
For every mask purchased through the link below, Humans in Action will donate three masks to From Houses to Homes. The Guatemalan government has made face masks mandatory in public but they are expensive or unavailable in many rural communities. From Houses to Homes supports families in more than 15 communities including Santa Maria, El Chipoton, Los Planes, Sumpango and Yalu and the goal will be to provide the donated masks to families in these areas.
Humans in Action is a non-profit initiative and has provided three families from our school Kemna’oj with an income. All profits from mask sales go to workers' pay along with donations to COVID-related causes.
María Elena Pío Acalón and her husband Edy Joselito Valle Petet have 4 children, including Mitchie and Madeline who both attend our school Kemna'oj. Due to COVID-19 the family had no income. This initiative helps supports displaced garment works like Maria and Edy.
